Conditions

– Subjects granted international driving licenses: Vietnamese people, foreigners with permanent residence cards in Vietnam, national driving licenses issued by Vietnam with PET material. still worth using.

– In case the national driving license is erased, damaged, no longer contains necessary information or there is a difference in identity; A national driving license that is not issued by a competent authority following regulations will not be issued with an International Driving Permit.

The procedures

a) Submit administrative procedures Individual applies for an International Driving Permit (hereinafter referred to as IDP) to the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam or the Department of Transport.

b) Settlement of administrative procedures

– Individuals, when applying directly at the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam or the Department of Transport, must present the original national driving license issued by Vietnam, passport, permanent residence card (for foreigners) to check the accuracy and legitimacy of the IDP issuance and to fulfill the obligation to pay the fee when receiving the dossier as prescribed; When applying the online public service system, an individual shall make a declaration according to the instructions and shall be responsible for the accuracy and legitimacy of the declared content. ability to pay fees of the online public service system and pay fees for using other services according to individual needs. In case the application is not following regulations, the application-receiving agency shall notify directly or in writing or through the online public service system the contents that need to be supplemented or amended to the individual within the time limit. within 2 working days from the date of receipt of the application. Within 05 working days from the date of receiving an application for an IDP following regulations, the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam or the Department of Transport shall issue an IDP to an individual; in case an IDP is not granted, a reply must be given clearly stating the reason.
