Dossier

• Marriage registration form with a foreigner;
• Certificate of marital status issued by a competent state agency;
• Certificate of health status: Issued by a competent agency, confirming that the marriage registrant does not have any mental illness or other disease affecting the ability to perceive and control behavior;
• Proof of identity: ID card, household registration book, passport, or other valid documents to replace the passport;
• In addition to the documents mentioned above, if the married party is a Vietnamese citizen who has divorced or annulled the marriage at a foreign competent authority, this person must also submit a copy of the civil status extract about the record recorded in the civil status book of  divorce or annulment of marriage according to regulations
• If you are a civil servant, public employee, or are serving in the armed forces, you must also submit a document from the agency or management unit certifying that the person’s marriage to a foreigner is not contrary to the regulations of that industry.

Procedure

Step 1: Apply for marriage registration with a foreigner at the People’s Committee of the district

Step 2: The agency checks and considers the validity of the application

Step 3: Issue marriage registration certificates to both male and female parties

Competent authority and settlement time

Competent authority: Committee of the district, city.

Time: 15 days from the date of valid application
